Todays long-term-care issues are increasing due to more people living longer. 

The average life expectancy has increased so much so that it brings with it the increased possibility of serious illness at a much older age. 

Long-term care is the situation whereby a person is unable to look after themselves without some form of help 

This may mean that a person needs help with assisted devices to help them walk or a wheelchair or chair lift in the home or of another person to care for them.  

Long-term care can be provided in the person’s home or in a Nursing or Residential Care home

Not everybody will have the need for long-term care during their lifetime, however the numbers of people who do are growing quite substantially.
